How does bandwidth work for reseller accounts?
Solution Bandwidth allocation in reseller accounts is done via packages:
If you change the the limits in a package, it will upgrade all accounts using that package to the new limits.
If you create a new package with the new limits and upgrade an account to the package, it will affect the upgraded account only.

If an account reaches the bandwidth limit for that account, it will display a 509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded error and no emails will be received on that account. This can then be left until the end of the month (when the bandwidth usage counter is reset to zero) or the account can be upgraded to a higher package by the reseller.

Resellers have 2 different bandwidth limits; overselling limit and usage limit. The usage limit is what you have paid for. You can allocate this to your accounts and use it without any extra charge. The overselling limit is a buffer, you can allocate this to your accounts just in case it is needed. If some of your accounts do not use much of the allocated bandwidth but other accounts use a lot, then overall it may work out that you are still within your usage limit.

As a reseller, you decide what the bandwidth levels should be for each account up to your overselling limit. If you exceed the usage limit we will invoice you for the additional usage at the end of the month. For the Reseller Basic account, the overselling limit and the usage limit are the same, for the other reseller accounts the overselling limit is higher then the usage limit. Therefore, the Reseller Basic account cannot normally exceed it's bandwidth limit.

At any point in time, we can allocate more bandwidth to your account, by increasing the overselling limit. This is not paid for unless it is used, but this limit is reset on the 1st day of each month back to the limit for the reseller account you have.

If you wish to increase your bandwidth overselling limit permanently, or if you wish to increase your usage limit you will need to upgrade your reseller account to a higher plan.

The current rates (as at July 2008) for the additional bandwidth (beyond the usage limit) are:
£2.25 per 1000mb (or parts thereof)
£12.00 per full 10,000mb usage
£85.00 per full 100,000mb usage
£150.00 per full 250,000mb usage

Note: Bandwidth prices fluctuate. The rates show above are subject to change. Please contact us if you would like up-to-date rates.
